As a result of measures taken on strengthening currency system, progress of cashless settlements, creation of favorable conditions on realization of payments with use of plastic cards in Uzbekistan, "electronic purses" as of 1 July 2010 exceeded 7 million.

    This figure increased by 38.7% in comparison with the similar period of 2009. At the same time, the number of terminals installed in trade and service centers increased by 66.5% against 2009 and comprised 61,000.

    Cashless settlements volume carried out by plastic cards rose 2.7 times during the reporting period and made up 2.7 trillion soums as of 1 July 2010.
